Name: Padma multi-faceted bridge



The only brackish river in the world is the Amazon River, where the Padma Bridge lies. The Padma is a two-story bridge with cars on the first floor and trains on the second floor. It is the first double-storied abridge to be built over the Padmanadi over the Kharsarot river from this direction.




History of Padma Bridge: Padma Setu connects: Munshiganj and Shariatpur Total cost of the bridge: 30,193.39 crores Length: 6.15 km Length including viaduct: 9.83 km. Total weight of spans: 1,16,388 tonnes. Weight of a span: 2838.72 tons Pile: 6 Diameter of the pile: 3 meters Maximum length of the pile: 128 meters. The total number of piles: is 264. (Including Viaduct Pillar Piles: 294) Amount of steel used: 1,46,000 metric tons Construction started: 7th December 2014

The construction work of the main bridge started with the work of pillar number 6 at the Mawa end Capacity: 75 thousand vehicles daily Height of bridge above water level: 18 meters Shape of Padma Setu: Like the English letter S (S). Earthquake tolerance 8 magnitude tremors on the Richter scale Life span of the bridge: 100 years
